You tried another pair. Then another. You finally found one that "fit" You spent three months, returned five pairs, and eventually settled for a pair of Chelsea boots to get through the winter.
We don't believe settling is the answer.
This is how Mountree began.
We set out to answer two questions:
First — why "actually fitting" always
Second — why does a boot that's both beautiful and comfortable cost you nearly a thousand dollars?
We spent 8 months searching for the answer. We tested over 30 stretch materials, ruined over 100 prototypes — until the day we finally find a material that can meets our requirements.
"It actually fits."
That was the moment we knew this could be done.
About the name.
Mountree — Mountain and Tree.
Mountain is structure. It's backbone. It's that grounded certainty you feel with every step.
Tree is resilience. It bends but never breaks — when the wind comes, it sways but stays rooted. That kind of grace.
This isn't accidental poetry. It's our understanding of what a shoe should do.

About the materials.
We don't use real leather — because we believe the best materials on earth shouldn't come at the cost of another living thing.
We use MounThread™ — Mountree's first plant-based leather named ourselves. It feels like suede, but it's more uniform, more durable, and more stain-resistant than suede ever was. It stretches. It bounces back. It wraps around every calf size without losing its shape.
We believe the next generation of shoe materials will grow from the ground, not be extracted from petroleum.
